Million Dollar Highway - 1

Million Dollar Highway - 2 The drive between the old mining towns of Ouray and Silverton is known as the "Million Dollar Highway" for the mines and spectacular scenery along the way. The only drive we've been on that was more scenic is the "Going to the Sun Highway" at Glacier National Park. Unfortunately most of our photos didn't do it justice due to the cloud shadows and low angle of the late afternoon sunlight.

Silverton, CO We stayed here for three nights and it was definitely the highlight of the trip due to the beautiful surrounding country for sightseeing and hiking.
